The Cheap Trick Rock band was inducted by kid rock in the rock and roll hall of fame on 8th April 2016, together with other bands such as deep purple, Steve miller, N.W.A and Chicago. This was the 31st annual rock and roll hall of fame induction ceremony and was held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York.

The cheap trick became first eligible for rock and roll hall of fame in 2002 but received acceptance in 2016 when it cog nominated after their recent album bang, zoom, crazy… hello which was released in April that year in their home state of Illinois. The band performed ‘ain’t that a shame’, surrender, ‘dream police’ and I want you to want me.

Singer robin zander, guitarist Rick Nielsen, bassist Tom Petersson, and original drummer bun E. Carlos (who was replaced by Nielson’s son Daxx were in attendance to accept the honor. The band performed very well with the former drummer Carlos considering they don’t get along very well since 2010. Nobody would have suspected their differences when watching them perform their three-song set, which was played to excellence. This performance was special since it was probably going to be the last one the lineup would play together.

During the ceremony, they gave a gift to a fellow class of 2016 inductee Steve miller. The gift was a guitar inscribed with the miller beer logo and shape. The gift was presented by Elder Nielson.
